Compare Two PDFs
Drop two versions of a document to spot the text lines added or removed.
Version A
Version B
Compare Two PDFs is a free tool that runs entirely in your browser, with no data ever sent to a server. Spot text lines added or removed between two versions of a document.
What it's for
Check what changed between two versions of a contract, a report, or an invoice, without reading the document line by line. Added lines appear in green, removed lines in strikethrough red.
What this tool does not do
This tool does not support password-protected PDFs, and only compares text, not images or formatting.
Frequently asked questions
Does the tool also compare the layout?
No: only the text extracted from each page is compared, line by line. Differences in images, color, or formatting are not detected.
What happens if the two PDFs don't have the same number of pages?
The text of each document is compared as a whole, not page by page: an added or removed page simply shows up as added or removed lines.
Are my files sent to a server?
No: processing happens entirely in your browser, on your device. No file is ever transmitted to a server, at any point.
