Black and White, Sepia, or Negative
Apply a color filter to your images, in batch, with an adjustable intensity to dial in the effect.
Black and White, Sepia, Negative is a free tool that runs entirely in your browser, with no data ever sent to a server. Apply a color filter to an image, in batch, with an adjustable intensity.
Three filters, three uses
Black and white removes the hue while keeping brightness shades, useful for unifying a series of photos or hiding a botched color balance. Sepia adds a brown tint reminiscent of old photography. Negative inverts every color, an effect more graphic than aesthetic. Pure threshold keeps only stark black and white, no gradient: handy for preparing a stamp or a stencil.
The intensity slider
It blends the filtered image with the original. At 100%, the effect is full; at 40%, the original color still shows through, for a softer look. Pure threshold ignores this setting, since it only knows black and white.
What this tool does not do
This tool does not read HEIC photos (the default on some iPhones): convert them to JPEG from the device first. On a PNG, compression changes the format rather than truly reducing the size, since the browser cannot produce a reduced-palette PNG.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo it?
The filter is applied to a copy: your original file, dropped in the zone, is never modified on your disk. Just keep it aside if you want to compare.
Does the processing work on several images?
Yes, the same filter and the same intensity apply to the whole batch dropped.
Are my files sent to a server?
No: processing happens entirely in your browser, on your device. No file is ever transmitted to a server, at any point.
