The upside down text generator is a free tool that runs entirely in your browser, with no data ever sent to a server. Flip text upside down, one letter at a time.
This is text, not an image
Flipping applies no graphic effect: each letter is swapped for a Unicode character that looks like it turned over. An “a” becomes “ɐ”, an “e” becomes “ǝ”. The order of the letters is then reversed so that reading starts from the right end.
Where it works
Anywhere plain text is accepted: handles, bios, messages, video titles, file names. Because these are real characters, they survive copy and paste, unlike a decorative font the reader would not have installed.
What this tool does not do
A few characters have no flipped counterpart in Unicode and are left untouched. Accented letters lose their accent when nothing matches, and some fonts show empty boxes for the rarest signs.
Frequently asked questions
Will the result show up everywhere?
Almost everywhere. The characters used are old and widely supported, but a very limited font, on a connected device or an old printer, may show a box instead of a rare sign.
Can I get the original text back?
Yes: pick “Turn back” and paste the flipped text. The few characters with no counterpart will not return, but everything else reads back without loss.
Is my data sent to a server?
No: the text you type or paste is processed entirely in your browser, on your device. It is never transmitted to a server.
Do I need an account or an install?
No: the tool works directly on this page, with no sign-up and no installation.
