Crop a PDF is a free tool that runs entirely in your browser, with no data ever sent to a server. Reduce a document's margins by setting the margin to remove on each edge.

What it's for

Remove the white margins of a scanned document, or tighten a layout before printing. The margin given is removed on every page, in the same proportions.

What this tool does not do

This tool does not support password-protected PDFs. Cropping changes the page's display area (the CropBox) but does not re-encode its content.

Frequently asked questions

Does cropping actually remove the margin content?

No: the page's visible area (the display box) is reduced, but the original content technically remains present in the file. For guaranteed removal, use a tool that regenerates the pages as images instead.

Can I crop each edge differently?

Yes: the four margins (top, bottom, left, right) are set independently.

Are my files sent to a server?

No: processing happens entirely in your browser, on your device. No file is ever transmitted to a server, at any point.
